1. Building an Internationalized NEHS at CTSP
] The CTSP Bureau is dedicated to attracting high-tech manufacturers to build Central Taiwan's technology industry chain and sustainable science clusters, while comprehensive living and educational facilities serve as an essential foundation supporting the park's development. The National Experimental High School at CTSP (NEHS at CTSP) was approved for establishment in 2009, consecutively introducing its Senior High School, Junior High School, Bilingual, and Elementary Departments. A kindergarten is projected to be established by 2028, making it the second experimental high school in a science park to feature a complete K–12 coherent education system, following the NEHS at Hsinchu Science Park.
] Integrating park and social resources through innovative and cross-disciplinary teaching, the NEHS at CTSP adheres to six core philosophies—technology, humanity, internationalization, art, character, and innovation—to cultivate talents possessing both technological literacy and humanistic care. Concurrently, the Bilingual Department strengthens connection with international education, enhancing students' international mobility and competitiveness to forge a forward-looking and internationalized educational environment. Furthermore, the recruitment scope of the Elementary and Junior High School Departments includes students from the local community, demonstrating that the NEHS at CTSP not only serves as an educational pillar for the park but also fulfills the functions of sharing educational resources and maintaining good neighborly relations.
] In response to the development of the Central Taiwan Science Park and regional educational needs, the new school buildings of the NEHS at CTSP were inaugurated with a plaque-unveiling ceremony on September 22, 2025. Utilized by the Elementary Department, Non-Profit Kindergarten, and Bilingual Department, the facilities not only provide a more comprehensive educational environment for the children of park employees but also strengthen the educational foundation for CTSP and local development.
] The Central Taiwan Science Park (CTSP) Non-Profit Kindergarten achieved a perfect score of 100 points in its performance evaluation for the 2024 academic year, demonstrating high-quality educational outcomes. Inheriting the school's six major educational visions and combining the industrial resources of the science park with bilingual education advantages, the Elementary Department of the NEHS at CTSP cultivates students' technological literacy, international perspective, humanistic care, and innovative thinking. Meanwhile, the Bilingual Department features cross-cultural learning; its students currently come from 21 different nationalities, and its foreign faculty members hail from countries such as the United States, Canada, New Zealand, and South South Africa, showcasing a diverse and inclusive international educational environment. Through the California curriculum framework, AP courses, ESL learning support, and a comprehensive higher education counseling system, the Bilingual Department assists students in bridging domestic and overseas education, developing global competence and transnational mobility.
] In terms of educational achievements, the NEHS at CTSP delivered outstanding academic placement performance in 2024. Approximately 73% of the graduating seniors from the Senior High School Department were admitted to national and medical universities, with around 32% entering top-tier domestic universities. Graduates from the Bilingual Department achieved a 100% admission rate to renowned universities in the United States, Australia, Taiwan, and other countries, with students already accepted into institutions such as UC Berkeley, the University of Sydney, and National Taiwan University. Additionally, about 23% of the Junior High School Department students were admitted to their top three high school choices. Looking ahead, the Bilingual Department is projected to host the Central Taiwan Overseas University Fair in March 2026, inviting approximately 56 overseas universities to participate, continuing to expand international higher education resources and development opportunities for students.
2. Cultivating Future Cross-Disciplinary Talents
In terms of curriculum and talent cultivation, the NEHS at CTSP actively integrates STEAM curricula, FRC robotics competitions, AI learning resources, green campus learning, and cross-departmental collaborative activities. This allows students to engage with scientific inquiry, engineering implementation, artistic expression, multiculturalism, and sustainability issues in their daily learning.
The school has long invested in the FIRST Robotics Competition to cultivate students' teamwork, engineering design, and problem-solving abilities. In 2025, the NEHS at CTSP robotics team, #7636 Robomania, participated in the New Taipei City and San Francisco Regional Competitions, advancing to the top eight in the San Francisco Regional and winning the Gracious Professionalism Award in the New Taipei City Regional. This demonstrated their cooperative spirit, rural service initiatives, and the core values emphasized by FIRST, including equity, humility, positivity, and respect.
The school also establishes a sustainable model for cultivating technological talent through its "Fun with STEAM Design" diverse elective courses and FRC flexible learning activities, which combine professional coaching with the shared experiences of graduating alumni.
Concurrently, the school collaborates with the industry to promote climate education and international exchange, guiding students to understand sustainability issues such as biochar, carbon removal, and the net-zero transition, while maintaining regular interactions with sister schools in Osaka and Kumamoto, Japan, as well as the Czech Republic and Germany, to expand students' cross-cultural understanding. In terms of bridging AI and international education, the Bilingual Department's counseling team designs guidance content covering self-awareness, AP elective course selection, exploration of department and career trends, and domestic and international university applications. They also invited Professor Steve Greedy from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham, UK, to offer the course "Introduction to Computer Vision using YOLO," helping students comprehend the applications of computer vision and artificial intelligence.
Overall, through international education, hands-on technological practice, AI exploration, and sustainability learning, the NEHS at CTSP is progressively constructing a talent cultivation pathway that spans from foundational empowerment and competitive challenges to future higher education and career exploration.
